AI Literacy Foundation is a charitable nonprofit dedicated to advancing education and improving social welfare in the community — helping people who are at risk of being left behind by artificial intelligence and digital technology gain the skills, confidence, and understanding to use it safely and effectively.
Artificial intelligence now shapes how people get information, do their work, manage money, and communicate with family. Some people are moving with it. Others are being left behind — not because they can’t learn it, but because nobody has explained it to them in language that respects them.
That gap has real consequences: missed opportunities on one side, and on the other, a new set of ways to be misled — cloned voices, fabricated video, messages written to be believed.
Understanding this shouldn’t require a technical background, a subscription, or somebody selling you something. Closing that gap is why we exist.
We provide AI literacy education online: clear, plain-language explanations of what AI actually is and isn’t, how it’s being used to deceive people, how to tell what’s real, and how to use the everyday tools safely and well.
Everything is open to anyone, with no account required and nothing for sale. Everything is produced by unpaid volunteers — drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a person before publication (see below).
We are an educational charity, not a school. There is no enrollment, tuition, coursework, or certificates — our educational resources are published openly, and reading them is the whole of it.
Anyone who wants to understand the technology reshaping daily life. No technical background required, no cost, no account.
Some people come to us curious. Some come because something felt off — a strange call, a message that didn’t add up. Many come on behalf of someone else: a parent, a friend, a neighbor they look out for. All of them are welcome.
What we’re after is informed participation — the confidence to use these tools on your own terms, and to recognize when someone is trying to use them on you.
We draft with AI assistance, and every guide is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a person before it is published. We tell you that plainly, for two reasons.
The first is that we teach people to ask where information came from, and it would be absurd to duck the question ourselves. The second is that it’s the same practice we recommend to you throughout these guides: use AI to draft, keep the judgment human, and verify anything that matters. We’re using the tools the way we think they should be used, in public, where you can see it.
Every guide carries the date it was last reviewed. Where a guide points to authoritative help — a government reporting line, a consumer-protection agency — we link to the source so you never have to take our word for it. And when we get something wrong, tell us: we’ll correct it and note that we did.
Our reference guides are published under the Foundation’s name rather than individual bylines. Original reporting is different and carries a name — if we publish interviews, public records work, or an account of something happening in a community, the journalist who did the work is credited. Reporting should be accountable to a person, and good reporting deserves the credit.
It’s a fair question, and the answer is ordinary: we’re a registered charity. The writing is donated, nobody draws a salary, and our costs are covered by donations. There’s no product behind the guides, because a charity isn’t built to sell you one — the same reason a public library doesn’t charge at the door.
No advertising. No affiliate links, and no payment ever accepted for mentioning a tool or company. No account required to read. We don’t sell or share information about our readers.
You shouldn’t have to trust an organization you just found on the internet — particularly one that writes about fraud. So we’ve made ourselves checkable.
